DY-100 Launch - Airflow Forcefield by VSFX
DY-100 Launch - Airflow Forcefield
The DY-100 was launched intact from the surface. Rather than using an aeroshell or fairing, aerodynamic forces during atmospheric flight were controlled using a rudimentary forcefield generated in the nose and rear section. This directed the airflow efficiently around the vehicle.

DY-100 (in launch configuration) Size Comparison
A DY-100 at launch measured just over 200m in height, almost twice as tall as a Saturn V moon rocket. Aerodynamic forces during atmospheric flight were controlled using an airflow forcefield generated in the nose and rear section (vsfx.deviantart.com/art/DY-100…).

Note: The height of the vehicles can vary depending on the version and stages used. The length of the DY-100 itself, as assumed here is 110 m. There is no canon figure.

DY-100 Image
In 1997, a teenager picked up a used hard drive from his local buy & sell store. When he got home he discovered several supposedly classified images showing a "DY-100 spaceship". When he told his parents about this they quickly brushed him off saying it was for a video game or something. His family was fortunate enough to be connected to the Internet, for the father's work purposes. Several days later their house was broken into with only the teenager's computer stolen. The police were unable to find any fingerprints or other evidence.
